APPOINTMENTS AND WHAT WE OFFER

The Surgery offers a range of appointments to our Patients and responding to questions and queries and comments from this website we decided to list for ease of reference what we offer. If you think we can improve on this we would be pleased to hear from you.

1. Routine Appointments - Can be made with any doctor in advance.

2. Open Access surgeries mean that patients dont need an appointment and can attend between 8.30am -10.00am On designated days -(see appointments for times and locations of open surgeries).

3. Urgent / Emergency appointments - Patients can see a doctor on the same day if needed by contacting the practice and requesting an emergency appointment. Reception staff will take your details and a doctor will contact you and make appropriate arrangements with you.

We understand that patients who like to see a particular doctor and can't get an appointment for weeks in advance. We hope you understand that patients are registered with the practice and not individual doctors, whilst we understand individual perference if a particular doctor has poor availability this is because they are simply already booked by patients who share the same perference. We can always facilitate other appointments if you need to see a doctor.

Saturday morning appointments are available every week and we rotate these between the Falls Road and Sandy Row surgeries. Please ask at reception for further information

Consultation Times

Consultations take place between 8:30am - 11:15am in the mornings and 3:00pm - 5:20pm in the afternoons

Appointments

planner The practice offers consultations by appointment with the doctor of your choice and can be booked in advance. Appointments are booked in ten minute intervals so should you require extra time with the doctor please ask the receptionist at the time of booking.

We endevaour to provide appointments with the doctor of your choice however were we cant make an appointment with the doctor of your choice to your satisfaction there is always other GP appointments available. If we cant give you an appointment with your doctor of your choice within the timeframe that you want this is simply because they have no routine appointments available at that time and we will arrange another appointment with your next preferred GP.

Open Access Clinics

As well as routine appointments the practice also offers open access clinics on a Monday & Friday morning Sandy Row and on a Wednesday Morning on the Falls Road.

Open Access surgeries are open between 8:30am and 10:00am. This service enables the practice to provide enhanced access to a practice doctor without having to wait no more than 24 hours from the time of request. Please note that patients who attend open access clinics cannot wait to see the doctor of their choice, all your records and medical history is available to all the doctors via our computer system and you will be seen in order by the next available doctor. If you prefer to see a particular doctor please make an appointment

Saturday Morning Surgeries

We are aware that sometimes patients may wish to see the doctor at a time that is more convenient to them or maybe you cannot simply get the time off work to come to the surgery for your check up. We now offer Saturday morning appointments every week and rotate these between the Falls Road and Sandy Row surgeries. Please ask at reception for further information

Urgent Appointments

Requests for urgent appointments should be made before 10am by telephone, sometimes the doctor may decide your problem may be dealt with by telephone advice. Please do not bring up unrelated problems.

Home Visits

homevisits If possible please try to telephone reception before 10am if you require a home visit.

A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.

House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Health Centre.

Telephone Advice

Should you need to contact the practice by telephone for advice, receptionists will take your contact details and some details of your query and pass this onto the doctor who will contact you (normally after the morning surgery).

Urgent requests will be given prompt attention by the receptionist and the doctors. We will, whenever possible, facilitate requests to speak to individual doctors however for practical reasons this is not always possible
